EQUANS are recruiting for an Assistant Compliance Officer to be based in Manchester. This is a fixed term contract for 3 years working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

Overview

The main purpose of the role is to assist the Energy, Sustainability, and Innovation team in the undertaking of their duties within the North. This includes the provision of support on low carbon and energy efficiency services to both internal and external clients. Administration of funding opportunities and project administration.

Key accountabilities

  • Promote the Company Sustainability Mission and participate in Company Training and Development.
  • Maximise profitability and cash benefit for the company.
  • To build up relationships with site teams, office staff, clients, and their representatives.
  • Continue personal professional development.
  • Provide assistance and administration to the Energy and Innovation team in the delivery of energy efficiency and microgeneration works.
  • Assist with the accurate submission of documents to external partners to ensure draw down of funding, including:
    • Understand Ofgem’s requirements for delivery of the Energy Companies Obligation (ECO),
    • SHDF (Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund) and GBIS (Great British Insulation Scheme).
    • Checking each application for compliance with the appropriate requirements
    • Collate all relevant information from sub-contractors.
    • Liaise with sub-contractors where errors are found.
    • Maintain relevant spreadsheets to track workload.
    • Assist with funding Applications.
  • Assist operational teams across multiple projects with advice and support on energy and innovation projects
  • Prepare relevant technical documents and proposals under the direction of other Advisors / Senior Advisors.
  • Where appropriate, attend external events and represent Equans at exhibitions and conferences.
  • Assist with the marketing and communication of Energy and Innovation services.
  • Undertake general administrative tasks on behalf of the Energy and Innovation team, ensuring systems are up to date in line with GDPR / client contracts and modify accordingly.
  • Ensure that all emails and telephone calls are dealt with appropriately, professionally and in a timely manner.
  • Be able to utilise knowledge and experience to ensure quick and accurate solutions are offered
  • To liaise with all staff, clients, consultants, and residents in a professional manner
  • Assist in ensuring the Company is in line with Health & Safety procedures, to protect your safety and others around you
  • Any other reasonable management request

Who are we looking for?

Skills and abilities

Essential:

  • Previous administration experience
  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent.

Desirable Experience:

  • Prior experience of social housing industry
  • Prior experience of the energy sector
  • Literate in MS Office (advance skills desirable)
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Ability to review detail quickly and accurately from numerous documents.
  • Ability to liaise with external organisations working to strict deadlines.
  • Possess a pro-active approach to work.
  • Confidentiality in handling sensitive data and able to work in line with GDPR regulations.
  • A confident and adaptable communication style (written and verbal)
  • A self-motivated conscientious approach but with the ability to work as a team at all levels.
