    Our summer internship is a 6-week programme designed to provide the experience and skills you need in your studies and future career. Our Norwegian and UK internship will begin on 19 June and ends on 4 August 2023, with one week off starting 17 July.     The Renewables (REN) area in Equinor is developing and delivering wind and solar power, storage solutions and hydrogen. We have great ambitions and aim to grow almost 20 times the size within renewables as we are today by 2030. REN aims to do this by combining Equinor’s broad energy competence, project delivery capabilities and ability to integrate technological solutions. To do this we also need young talents with an eye for the future.

    The Low Carbon Solution (LCS) area in Equinor is developing new business opportunities with focus on reducing greenhouse gas emissions through carbon capture and storage and low-carbon hydrogen as an energy carrier. We have the ambition to be the European leader in clean hydrogen and carbon capture and storage, with stated targets of over 25% market share in CO2 transport and storage capacity and over 10% market share in clean hydrogen by 2035. To succeed we need young talents with creative minds who are ready to take on the challenge of creating a sustainable future.

    By joining this position within Renewables or Low Carbon Solutions, interns will be participate in an exciting and common summer internship programme as well as offered technical and commercial challenges, tasks and/or group work within the following relevant competence area - you will be asked to indicate your preferred one(s) in the application:

    • Strategy, Business Development & Commercial (REN)
    • Technical - Operations & Maintenance (REN)
    • Environment & Consents (REN)
    • Business Development & Commercial (LCS)
    • Finance, Economics and Energy (LCS)

    Your exact assignment will be decided based on our business needs, combined with your field of expertise and your interests, with some examples provided below:

    • Analyse regulations and consultation processes to see how they may influence the strategy of the business (REN)
    • Support the creation of commercial propositions (REN)
    • Supporting the consenting and environment team through ongoing application processes (REN)
    • Support the operational teams solve technical issues with the goal of improving generation
    • Participate in developing low carbon value chains (LCS)
    • Contribute in ongoing clean hydrogen projects (LCS)
    • Carry out work related to CO2 transport and storage solutions (LCS)

    • Currently studying for Bachelor’s, Master’s degree or Ph.D. with a strong academic record within Engineering, Business, Economics, Finance, Marketing, Political Science, Environmental Science
    • Fluent in English and preferably a second working language
    • No more than two years of relevant full-time work experience
    • Have completed at least two years of higher education before the internship programme starts (19 June 2023)
    • Have at least one year of higher education left after the internship programme ends (4 August 2023)
    • The interns need to be located in the country where the internship takes place during its entire duration. Equinor does not support any relocation for our summer interns.
