    About the role

    You will begin your career by collaborating with our talented development engineers and designers to build the next generation of ESO’s SaaS and mobile products. Our engineers are passionate about their craft and revel in shipping software that improves patient care. No previous DevOps experience required, as you will learn on the job and all training will be provided, allowing you to experience life in a cool global company with a fantastic team and culture.

    Reporting to the DevOps Manager you will be part of our Sustaining Engineering team in Belfast.

    What You’ll Be Doing – the day to day

    • You'll be treated as one of the team – we will support you to help you grow and become a highly accomplished DevOps engineer
    • You'll be given opportunities to demonstrate how good you are – we want you to succeed, do a good job with us and be setup for your final year in Uni
    • You'll work within development teams to help them deliver world class applications
    • You'll develop CI/CD pipelines and solutions that contribute directly to the ESO suite of applications
    • You'll be exposed to a range of technologies ranging from one or more of Microsoft Azure, Azure DevOps, Octopus Deploy, Docker, Terraform, DSC, Kubernetes, C#, .NET core, Java, JavaScript, AngularJS, SQL Server, MongoDB
    • You'll learn DevOps patterns and ways of working – our people have learned a lot of lessons getting us to this point and we want you to know them so you can quickly and effectively contribute to the team
    • You'll be exposed to IAC, automation, unit testing, source control
    • You'll be part of a team that pushes you to grow and share the knowledge you’ve learned
    • You'll help drive the organisational cultural change to a DevOps mindset using DevOps best practices and tooling

    Who You Are - some of the essential things required to be successful in the role

    • Passion. Do you have a passion for software development and the IT sector. Outside of your studies what do you do or what are you involved in that relates to one, other or both of these?
    • Innovation. What have you done that’s set the standard for others to follow or challenges the norm?
    • Acumen. Okay, you’ve spent the last few years studying but what else have you done to improve your technical skills and experience?
    • You should also have, or will have, completed at least two years of a third level qualification in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a STEM discipline.
