    The Estée Lauder Companies (ELC) Global Product Safety and Regulatory Affairs team has an opening for Associate Regulatory Affairs Scientist – Intern. This role will be based at Whitman Laboratories in Petersfield, UK.

    The EU Regulatory Affairs team collaborates with the wider EMEA team as well as our global Regulatory and Registration teams to facilitate the free sale of Estée Lauder brands products globally. This department is responsible for ensuring ELC products are in compliance with all relevant legislation with regard to safety, performance and labelling, per our products intended market(s). Additionally, the EU team provides expertise and technical background to global corporate functions on cosmetic ingredients and legislation relevant to ELC products within the EU and other areas of the world.

    The successful candidate will support the EU Regulatory team and work alongside the global Registration teams based in the US and Canada. This role will focus on supporting both global registration activities and local notification requirements through the collation and review of cosmetic product dossiers.

    Tasks will include being directly involved with global markets to ensure they have the correct documents needed for product registration for countries outside EU and supporting the global Registration team through the coordination of requests for documents such as Certificate of Free Sale (CFS) and Certificate of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).

    Key responsibilities

    • Supporting the coordination and completion of product registration dossiers for ELC brands to facilitate the timely registration of products globally. This includes gathering documents from internal and external sources and organizing document legalization when required.
    • Coordinating requests for Certificate of Free Sale (CFS) and Certificate of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) across Europe to support global Product Registration Dossiers.
    • Notifying cosmetic products in the EU and UK, through CPNP (Cosmetic Product Notification Portal) and SCPN (Submit Cosmetic Product Notification) respectively.
    • Supporting local requests for SDS documentation.

    Qualifications

    • Must be studying towards or already have a degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology, Toxicology or any similar scientific discipline. Should be on course to achieve, or have already achieved, at least a 2:1.
    • Strong time management and organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and work independently.
    • Highly competent computer skills and an aptitude for learning how to use new systems. Full training on internal systems will be provided.
    • Team player, able to build strong relationships with cross-functional teams and leverage those relationships to manage complex/novel requests.
    • A passion for learning and an inquisitive mind.
    • Second foreign language desirable, but not essential.
