Evotec (UK) Ltd is currently seeking enthusiastic and talented biology students to join us in our Protein Sciences group working at our Dorothy Hodgkin campus in Oxfordshire. The department is at the heart of Evotec’s global business and is at the forefront of new science and technology. We work closely with our partners, and within fundamental research and innovation projects, to develop a range of new drugs from small molecules through to biologics and beyond.

Key Responsibilities
- Supporting a project team by conducting protein biochemistry experiments with clearly defined objectives and timelines
- Contributing to the design, execution and interpretation of experiments within a project team
- Adapting and applying scientific knowledge with assistance from other team members to resolve research challenges encountered
- Preparing reports of findings, presenting data, and collaborating with other scientists at Evotec
- Presenting own work at technical meetings
- Complying fully with the company safety policy (including COPs and SOPs) when performing experiments
- Reading scientific literature relevant to the project
- Adhering to Lab Notebook guidelines regarding accurate documentation of lab experiments
Knowledge, Skills & Capabilities
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic, cooperative and reliable
- Knowledge of basic laboratory techniques, and understanding of the science underlying the techniques and experiments
- The ability to work accurately and with attention to detail
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with other scientific staff
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good organisational and time-management skills
- Good verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain excellent laboratory records
Education, Qualifications and Experience
- Must be currently undertaking an undergraduate degree in a relevant scientific field, seeking a placement year as part of their undergraduate degree programme.
