Job description
As a Graduate UX Content Designer, you’ll be creating for the user! In this role as part of the UX Content Team, you’ll play an important part in enabling users to understand and successfully use our products.
You’ll work in one of Experian’s business areas which offers B2B data management and validation products. Working closely with our designers, developers and product managers, you’ll understand our products and gather user requirements, before using your creativity and language skills to translate these requirements into accurate and engaging content.
The core of this role is creating user and prospect documentation, so being inquisitive and putting yourself in the shoes of our users is important. However, the wider scope for this role is broad and you could gain exposure to working on UI (user interface) copy, training content or even RFI (Request For Information) and other technical content for prospective clients!
Day to day usually involves gathering requirements from developers or other SMEs (Subject Matter Experts), planning your work and understanding the product you’re documenting, then structuring the content and having peer-reviews before it gets published to our global user documentation site.
It’s an ideal opportunity if you have an interest in technical authoring and product development.
Throughout this programme, communication skills are key! We’re looking for graduates with exceptionally strong written and verbal communication skills, as you’ll be working with a variety of people and creating content for different audiences. As part of this, you may also have to translate technical processes to non-technical stakeholders.
If you choose to join us, you’ll receive industry training, wide-reaching career opportunities and a wealth of support through our Early Careers Network, buddy, line manager & mentor scheme. You’ll also join onto our 2-year structured Graduate programme, which is packed with workshops, short-courses & online material designed to help kick-start your career.
Our concept is simple. We believe in expanding horizons – it’s what makes Experian a global leader and a Top UK Tech Employer.
Qualifications
We look for driven, reliable graduates eager to take on real responsibility and who have recently achieved or are on track to achieve a minimum 2:2 degree classification.
You can be a graduate from any degree background, but with an interest in technology as you’ll be writing about technical concepts. You’ll also need strong project management skills to organise (under guidance) the various aspects of technical authoring.
Any knowledge of technologies such as Markdown, HTML or Azure DevOps is valuable but not essential to the role.
