We are now recruiting for our 2023 UK Industrial Placement Programme and we are seeking exceptional people who we can empower to think independently, take initiative and be innovative.
While on placement with ExxonMobil you will have support and guidance from managers, supervisors and recent graduates to enable you to apply your degree knowledge and fulfil your potential, gaining confidence and experience as an individual, and learning new skills in a real business environment.

What You'll Do
Based out of our Commercial and Trading office, you would be joining our Europe Feed & Product Management division; this is the group within ExxonMobil responsible for optimising production of valuable products at the best possible price. You will be sat within a group of strategic economists, optimizers, and crude oil traders, supporting a broad variety of base business activities, as well as selected discreet projects that you will own and drive.
Specific areas you would be involved in include operational inventory and strategic petroleum reserve management (what is our lowest cost optimised model), hindsight analysis (how well did we execute our optimised crude runplans across the region), the year-end inventory optimisation process, stewardship for inventory management (how well are we performing vs. our aims), and a range of other activities supporting Refinery Economics & Crude optimisation.
Currently based in Leatherhead, Surrey, but with a view to relocate to a more central London location in early 2023.
Requirements
To be eligible for this role, you must:
- Be in the penultimate year of your degree course
- Be expecting a minimum of a 2:1 Bachelors/Masters degree (or equivalent) in an Engineering discipline, Mathematics, Economics, Management Science, Finance, or other associated degree with high analytical and numeracy skills
- Have a minimum of three ‘A’ levels (or equivalent) of at least B grade
- Be seeking to gain work experience on a 13 month paid Industrial Placement commencing in July 2023
Successful candidates should possess a broad range of personal effectiveness and leadership skills, with the ability to facilitate and influence business decisions in a team environment.
