The role
Your first role will depend on your experience, but could include:
Trading Analytics - Performing fundamental market analysis for your commodity that includes using proprietary and third-party data to predict the differences between supply and demand and the resultant change in inventory in order to develop actionable market insights of where you see the market evolving and the opportunities for physical and derivative market positions to support commercial decision making by our trading teams.
Trading Fusion Analytics - Trading Fusion Analytics empowers our Trading analytics and trader teams with better decision-making tools through rapid prototyping and expert support in data engineering, software development, and data science.
Trading Risk & Compliance - Supports Trading in the areas of Exchange Administration, Regulatory and Compliance, Risk Control, Valuations, Risk Reporting, and Risk Analytics. Graduate hires will work closely with Trading and other functions (e.g. Controllers, IT, financial/executing brokers, etc.) to ensure Trading PnL, exposures, mark-to-market accounting, limit monitoring and permissions process are accurate and delivered in a timely fashion.
Planning & Performance - You will design and implement processes to monitor our trading performance to understand and report on the return on the capital, expense, VAR, and people that are used by our rapidly growing Trading business. Using the data that we measure on performance of the business, you will manage and prepare the annual business plan, that includes profit targets by trading sector and develop operating budgets. You will assist senior Trading management develop our strategy and articulate the business performance.
Trader Development Program (TDP)
Candidates with an interest in a long-term career as a Trader, have the opportunity to apply and be selected onto our assessed Trader Development Program (TDP).
The TDP is designed to deliver a structured and rigorous learning experience to assist in the identification and development of best-in-class traders across all commodities at ExxonMobil. Those selected to join this program will develop the competencies needed to be successful as a trading professional by rotating through multiple roles across the Trading Community. On-the-job training will be supplemented by formal multi-disciplinary training. At the end of the program, individuals who successfully complete a formal assessment, including real-life trading simulations, will continue their development in a series of trading roles with increasing responsibilities and market exposure.
About you
To be eligible for this role, you must
- Have at least a 2:1 degree in any subject
- Be graduating in 2024 or have graduated in the last 3 years (2023-2021).

- Leadership capabilities
- Relevant work experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
