    ExxonMobil has operated in the U.K. for more than 135 years. We are best known today for the marketing of our Esso fuels and Mobil 1 lubricants and for our petrochemicals. We have refining and chemical operations in the UK, we operate the UK’s biggest private pipeline network and we retain a non-operated share in a number of fields in the North Sea.     What you will do

    The programme is designed to build a career platform of technical, industry and specialist knowledge. It will give you the tools and opportunity to establish your own career path in various senior engineering positions and allow you to explore gaining further professional registration such as chartership, with support via our accredited MPDS IMechE mentoring programme.

    Your first role will depend on your experience, but could include:

    • Project Development or Execution Engineer – You could find yourself working on a major capital project to reduce the carbon footprint of our business or increase the safety or reliability of our facilities.
    • Mechanical Integrity Engineer – Ensuring the equipment we use across our sites deliver the performance we need safely and reliably.
    • Machinery Engineer – Providing technical support within a Business team ensuring the reliable and safe operation of critical machines or developing innovative improvements for long term fleet reliability.

    About you

    To be eligible for this role, you must:

    • Have at least a 2:1 degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
    • Be graduating in 2024 or have graduated in the last 3 years (since 2023-2021).
    • Be able to demonstrate a broad range of personal effectiveness and leadership skills, with the ability to facilitate and influence business decisions in a team environment.
    • Be motivated to continue your professional development as an engineer and work with Company mentors towards IMechE Chartership.
    • Relevant work experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
