    About the Bright Network - EY Empower Programme

    EY Empower is a new initiative developed in partnership with Bright Network, specifically designed to support those who come from traditionally under-represented groups in the industry.

    If accepted on to the programme, you will be offered in-depth coaching and support throughout the rest of the EY recruitment process, to help you realise your full potential. This will be provided across a variety of formats, including group and 1-2-1 coaching sessions, and sign-posting to relevant upskilling tools and material.

    EY Empower: Transaction Diligence Summer Internship 

    About the programme

    In Transactions Diligence, you’ll work with corporations big and small, gaining an understand of what it takes to prepare business deals and predict risks. Whether a company is selling a part of or all its business or acquiring a new business, our team specialises in financial due diligence – assessing risks and opportunities – and reporting on these to our clients, their banks, investors and others. You’ll join our professionals, taking on real project work, just like our graduates. This is an exciting opportunity to expand your portfolio of work in a supportive environment.

     

    What will you be doing?

    • Working with a range of clients, that could be local or international, corporate or private equity.
    • Learning about market leading transactions.
    • Learning from industry experts on real client projects.
    • Developing your analytical skills and gaining an understanding of how companies operate.
    • Working closely in project teams with graduates to Senior Managers and Partners. 
    • Using your networking and relationship-building skills.

     

    How is it structured?

    Develop an understanding of Transaction Diligence with a focused training induction. Then join a project team on a live client project, gaining the same experience and exposure as a new graduate across the different elements of the transaction.

    Bring an eagerness to learn, adaptability, curiosity and a passion for people and you could lay the foundations for a successful future. If you do a great job, you could be offered a place on the graduate programme to come back to when you finish university.

    Across your five-week summer internship, dive into a variety of activities that will see you pick up brand-new skills, develop your strengths and prepare for tomorrow. As well as contributing to client projects, take on extra learning opportunities that broaden your experience in business, leadership and technology.     Entry requirements

    If you meet the EY Empower criteria below, you’re in your penultimate year at university, or if you’re already in your final year but will be doing a one-year Master’s degree, or taking a gap year, this internship is for you.

    To be eligible for the EY Empower programme, you must identify within any of the listed groups below:

    • A minority ethnic group, including (but not limited to) Black Heritage, Mixed/Multiple Ethnic Heritage and Asian 
    • Female
    • LGBTQ+
    • From a lower socio-economic background
    • Identify as having a disability

    We operate an open access policy, meaning we don’t screen out applications on your academic performance alone. You will however, need to be working towards an honours degree in any subject - some programmes will require a subject relevant to the business area, and have a minimum of grade 4/C GCSE (or equivalent) in English Language and Maths and three A-levels/Five Highers (or equivalent) to be eligible to apply.
