    About the role

    As a Technical Program Manager intern in the WhatsApp team, you will play a key role defining and driving impactful engineering projects, solving complex systems problems and building features and infrastructure that power WhatsApp's This is a 12 week summer internship opportunity starting in June 2022.

    Responsibilities

    • Work and strategize with others on cross-functional engineering infrastructure projects that cover a range of areas (mobile apps, video, machine learning, backend systems, software deployment, capacity and performance, data and analytics, deployment and configuration, hardware systems, network software, general tooling)
    • Provide hands on program management during analysis, design, development, testing, implementation/deployment, and monitoring
    • Perform risk identification and management for programs
    • Provide day-to-day coordination for projects and tasks
    • Help drive process and communications improvements across multiple teams and functions both internal and external to Facebook

    About you

    Minimum qualifications

    • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical field
    • Organizational and coordination skills along with multitasking capabilities to get things done
    • Demonstrated experience in relationship building and influencing project stakeholders
    • Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills

    Preferred qualifications

    • Knowledge of mobile apps, videos infrastructure, data analytics, machine learning, backend systems, computer architecture, networking infrastructure, and/or cloud infrastructure services
    • Working knowledge of Project and Program Management skills and tools
    • Experience with computer networking or similar field
    • Proactive and able to work in an ambiguous environment
    • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
    • Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship/co-op
