    Graduate Programme Structure

    • The graduate position is permanent from day 1.
    • Your first 6 months is a structured and highly supported training program. During this time you will gain exposure to many areas of the Research & Development organisation.
    • You will have a dedicated mentor/coach, we call them Graduate Success Coaches, to support you through the program.
    • You will have access to very talented people that you can learn from.
    • Once you complete the graduate program you will join a Feature Crew as a fully-fledged member of the Research & Development division.
    • The recruitment process is a 45-minute interview via Zoom with a member of our recruitment team. After this you will be asked to submit a writing sample for review. This is followed by a virtual assessment day taking place on 15th February 2023.
    • The start date of the position is 4th September 2023.

    The Role

    Come and join the User Experience Content Team at FinancialForce! Both the company, and the role of user experience content collateral, are maturing rapidly, and as we expand the team we are looking to hire a Graduate Content Creator.

    You will be joining a friendly, talented team that will support and mentor you through a structured graduate program and the next steps of your career at FinancialForce.

    What you will do in this role

    The User Experience Content Team creates the product Help, video and in app learning collateral, and FinancialForce Trailheads for our customer-centric ERP, Professional Services Automation (PSA) and Customer Success solutions.

    This collateral ensures our customers have the best possible experience when using FinancialForce products. You will work closely with FinancialForce development teams, including Software Engineers, Product Managers and UX Designers, who collaborate to build new functionality or enhance existing functionality within our products.

    You will be developing high quality content that will be rolled out to hundreds of current and prospective customers. During the graduate program you will learn the skills you need to meet the key responsibilities of the role. These include:

    • Writing impactful and accessible product documentation.
    • Creating consistent user interface text and messages.
    • Creating FinancialForce Trailheads.
    • Using Agile development principles to produce video tutorial scripts and videos for new and updated applications.
    • Creating worked exercises to support the release preview programme. These exercises form the basis for the live customer training delivered by professional services colleagues.
    • Participating in quality reviews of the Content team’s output.

    A successful candidate will also:

    • Work towards a recognised technical communicator qualification.
    • Learn how to create Help files, printable release notes, including installation and configuration guides, for regular software releases.
    • Over time, contribute to the working methods and processes of the User Experience Content team, and contribute suggestions for improvements to the software design and usability.

    There may be the need for occasional off-site meetings or visits. This job may require ad-hoc flexibility in working hours to support and liaise with the company’s US division, customers and technology partner Salesforce.com.

    Location

    The job is office-based, where we employ a hybrid model with a high degree of flexibility. Although people are welcome to come into the office full time, teams typically work in the office two or three days a week, and from home two or three days a week.

    In the initial months of the Graduate Scheme you will be expected to be in the office five days a week.

    Requirements

    • You need to have excellent writing skills, including: grammatical accuracy, the ability to organise material clearly and explain technical concepts in an easy-to-understand way.
    • You will be required to work in a team and so be an excellent team player.
    • You need to be a good communicator, with the ability to articulate your ideas effectively.
    • Be a self-starter, motivated with a passion for learning.
    • The ability to problem solve is important, as is good organisation skills, multi-tasking, and the ability to work to deadlines and deliver projects on time.

    What else would be great

    • An awareness of Agile development methodologies.
    • Experience with video editing software, such as Adobe Premiere Pro.
    • Experience of software used within a business, or experience of having worked in a business environment.
    • Knowledge of XML-based authoring system, HTML and CSS.
