What would I be doing?
Our placement programme aims to provide you with practical and insightful experience of real-world surveying which will not only help you with your future studies but shape the foundations of your career.
We are looking to recruit a placement-year student to start in 2024 across our four divisions:
- Infrastructure Services (Land Access, Rights Over Land, Valuation , Management, Stakeholder Management, Project Management, GIS & Mapping)
- Advisory (Building Consultancy, Planning, Green Energy & Sustainability, Telecoms, Valuation, Compensation, Business Rates Consultancy)
- Property Management & Consultancy (Agribusiness, Rural Land Management, Minerals, Commercial Property Management)
- Agency (Commercial Transactional, Rural and Residential Agency, Development Agency)
What are the requirements?
We are more than happy to teach you all the technical skills you need, it is your personal attributes and commitment to the role that is key. Ideally, you will:
- Be a student from any degree subject (you will need a surveying degree if you are applying for a building surveying role)
- Have an interest in the built and/or natural environment
- Have excellent people and communication skills - both verbal and written
- Have a positive, can-do attitude and be able to identify and solve problems
- Have good attention to detail
- Adopt a consultative approach, able to identify and solve problems
- Have the ability to work on multiple projects and tasks at any one time, working in a way that is highly agile and responsive to rapidly changing client and site requirements
- Be committed to continuing your studies in order to become chartered with the RICS or RTPI
- Have access to transport, or be willing to do so by the time you start work, as you will often be required to travel to out of town client sites
- Enjoy going out and about in all weathers, travelling across the region or further afield and working outside of the normal 9-5 when required.
