About the role

Fitch Solutions, the global leader in emerging market analysis, is recruiting a commercially-minded and high-calibre graduate to join its Country Risk & Industry Research team in London. You will be focusing on the Banking sector, contributing to our highly-regarded market intelligence service, providing analytical research for senior decision-makers in financial institutions, government agencies and large multinational corporations. Explore the fast-changing dynamics of the Banking sector, amidst the as technological disruption alters the sector’s competitive landscape and unlocks new opportunities for consumers and investors.

You will be:

  • Contributing analytical research on a daily basis primarily through articles and written reports, but also through special reports, webinars and client interaction;
  • Helping shape our outlook on the global banking sector, integrating our industry-specific, macroeconomic and financial market views;
  • Collaborating with our country risk, political risk and industry analysts across global offices to ensure holistic banking sector analysis;
  • Managing a portfolio of countries, producing analysis and reports assessing risks and opportunities, and creating 10-year forecasts;
  • Analysing the growth strategies of the world’s leading banking and financial services players;
  • Identifying market and company trends and articulating how these translate into growth opportunities for our clients;
  • Interacting with clients and supporting our sales team, communicating our views, in order to help promote our business development;

You will be trained to produce value-added and actionable analysis for senior decision-makers across the global business spectrum. You will be able to develop strong industry expertise, while also gaining important client-facing experience. Furthermore, you will have the chance to develop a deeper understanding of macroeconomics and global political dynamics thanks to our unique integration of Industry and Country Risk analysis.

Your profile

We are looking for candidates with a strong academic background and a passion for the subject matter. Candidates need to show interest in the banking sector, a basic understanding of macro principles and familiarity with world affairs. An analyst will need to demonstrate ambition and a desire to learn and continue to develop as an analyst from day one.

Basic requirements

  • Previous professional experience in analysis and research; and banking and financial services in particular would be valued
  • Fluent English writing style
  • Strong communication skills to liaise with a global team spread across offices
  • Genuine interest in world affairs, international business, emerging markets and financial markets
  • Attention to detail.

Ideal skills/qualifications

  • Degree in finance, economics, international relations, or related subject matter
  • Postgraduate degree
  • Microsoft Excel skills
  • Working proficiency in other languages
