The client
We’re looking to recruit an HR Management Trainee, based in our head office in Hitchin and covering our Employee Relations, Recruitment, Talent and Training divisions. This program offers a structured, fast-track route into a career in Human Resources to give you the knowledge, qualifications and on-the-job learning to go on and be a leader within Fortem.
Duties and responsibilities
As a Management Trainee on the HR team you will work with experienced Fortem colleagues and gain experience within multiple areas of Human Resources. You will:
- Understand and learn the HR function, beginning with administration, basic employment law, policy and procedure, advice and guidance and moving through to management coaching, engagement and effective leadership
- Be exposed to all areas of your chosen discipline to develop your understanding of the business.
- Work alongside other experience business managers to develop your skills and understanding of the wider business
- Be supported to study a relevant higher level apprenticeship qualification whilst gaining relevant work experience
Applicants for this Trainee programme can be either
- Sixth Form/College leavers who have completed A Levels, a BTEC, T levels, an HNC but doesn’t want to go to University full time • Someone with related work experience
- A Graduate with a degree in an HR-related subject or currently studying for CIPD – If you have this we can offer you a 2-year programme
- A Graduate with a non-HR related degree – If you have this we can offer you a 3-year programme
What you will need
Essential
- Fantastic verbal and written communication skills
- Strong work ethic
- A learning mindset
- Self-motivated and ambitious
- Full UK Driving Licence (no more than 6 points)
