The role
We operate a 13-month (August 2024 - Sept 2025) student placement programme within our Electrical team.
This is an exciting opportunity where you will work with highly skilled and experienced engineering professionals and graduates who you can learn and develop with - the more questions you ask the more you will gain from your experience. It is important to know that many of our industrial placements have been successful in obtaining graduate roles on completion of their degree.
To be eligible for an industrial placement within our the Electrical and Battery Systems team you should be working towards a degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Automotive, Electronic, Electrical, or Computing / Software Engineering (or similar) and be able to demonstrate strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Our new office is based in Oxford Technology Park, Technology Drive, Langford Lane, Kidlington, Oxfordshire, OX5 1GN.
Responsibilities
During the placement you will take on responsibilities such as:
- Developing battery systems for integration into vehicles across the automotive, mining, motorsport and other applications.
- Preparing and presenting technical reports for internal and external audiences.
- Creating system architecture diagrams and circuit drawings to support the electrical design.
- Authoring requirements and documents at vehicle, system, and component level.
- Contributing to the development of safety cases to demonstrate to customers and auditors that our designs are safe and reliable.
- Supporting our continuous improvement activity, process development, and fault resolution activities to help us to continue to learn and grow as a business.

Those students that are shortlisted will be invited to attend an assessment day at the Williams campus in Grove, Oxfordshire, UK (20 minutes’ drive South of Oxford). It is expected that the student takes sole responsibility for making suitable travel and accommodation arrangements.
