Team Information
Within the Weapons Assurance Group we have a diverse team, with first-hand experience as operators, regulators and subject matter experts, who understand the challenges you face in developing, delivering and operating your weapon systems. This expertise means we are best placed to support you in overcoming these challenges, using innovative, yet evidence based, approaches. We deliver a wide range of weapon related work, from weapons and safety assurance, weapon research and development to in-service support
We work with government and industry clients, nationally and internationally, to support the development of advanced and novel weapons systems. Using our specialist technical capabilities we collaborate with Defence Safety Authorities, interpreting their policies and procedures to provide expert advice to the wider weapons community on safety and environmental management. We can support the design, development, production and through-life management of your small arms, naval guns, complex weapons, artillery systems and military and law enforcement products. Our expertise in weapon systems safety assurance means we can undertake research on weapon effects and protection systems for your organisation.

What you’ll need?

We are looking for experience of a combination of the following topics and regulations:
- 2:1 Degree or higher (or equivalent/experience) with a related Engineering or relevant scientific bias.
- Some understanding of the structure and development of safety cases, safety requirements and their effect on weapon design.
- Some understanding of the structure and development of requirements, and their effect on weapon acquisition, design, and support.
It is to your advantage if you meet any of the following additional desirable abilities:
- Experience in using and applying ASEMS (POEMS & POSMS)
- Experience in using and applying Defence Codes of Practice DSA 03.OME
- An understanding of Auditing.
- An understanding of Project Management.
The nature of our work means that we require staff to access Government material, it is therefore necessary for all our employees to gain appropriate security clearance. We will apply for clearance if you have successfully been selected for a position, and we will decide if we can successfully gain full clearance on your behalf based on the content of your application.
