What we do in Consulting
We develop software solutions across all of our markets. We create the applications that grease the wheels of automation and product improvement as the digital revolution sweeps across industry. We chase the problems that our people are interested in and work closely with our customers to understand the impact and benefits our solutions can have for them.
Our work helps to keep the UK safe and secure. We help customers to robustly forecast the scale and size of our national infrastructure for a changing future. We develop the tools used to plan for the challenges of the future and explore what we should do about them in the present, such as climate change and an aging population.
Team information
As part of our software development and modelling teams you will both develop greenfield software applications and extend the capability held within existing software products. Our teams work on high value software products making complex situations understandable for our users. User numbers are low enough that our developers can work effectively with user communities to ensure what we are doing matters to them and will be effective.

You will be working on software products over the full software development lifecycle. You will bring projects from an initial vision, through requirements, design, implementation, and testing to delivery to the client. You will be a good team player, have a strong understanding of good practice in software engineering and work alongside exceptional professional software developers. You will learn new languages, architectures, design patterns and frameworks and become a champion for high quality software in a range of different industries.
