    An opportunity has arisen to join the SOYL team, based in Hermitage, Berkshire on a full-time permanent basis however, we are open to discussions around part time hours as well hybrid home/office working.

    Learn how GPS technology allied with GIS mapping can deliver cutting edge variable rate nutrient fertiliser application maps and seed plans based on changes in soil across a field. We also offer the opportunity to work with partners in space industry supplying satellite imagery for crop monitoring from which we make sustainable Nitrogen crop management plans.

    The role will involve collecting information from customers that is required to make our unique sustainable fertiliser and seed application plans. This information is then processed using our bespoke software and fertiliser and seed equations to make spatially variable fertiliser plans.

    These plans are then used to create digital application maps that can automatically control fertiliser spreaders and seed drills to apply inputs only where they are needed.

    Ideal Candidate

    • Demonstrate an ability to provide good customer service
    • Effective written and oral communication skills
    • Possess a confident and professional telephone manner
    • Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
    • Proven attention to detail
    • Proven ability to solve problems
    • Ability to work on own initiative, making decisions, managing own workload and time, whilst developing effective and supportive relationships with colleagues and customers.
    • Strong customer focus
    • A working knowledge of the use of fertilisers in arable farming with a practical knowledge of the use of RB209 would be desirable
    • Self-motivated and tenacious
    • Flexible approach to work and managing changing priorities
    • Ideally FACTS qualified although training can be provided

    The Role – Key responsibilities

    An interest in agriculture and farming would be a distinct advantage, however a positive attitude to learning is more important and full technical training will be provided for the right candidate:

    • Communicate with customers to gather key information for the processing of their fertiliser recommendations
    • Respond to, monitor and resolve customer and sales team enquiries via telephone and email
    • Confidently apply technical knowledge to support customers
    • Precise processing of fertiliser recommendations using in-house, bespoke software
    • Creation of variable rate GPS fertiliser spreading files
    • Use of MS Office packages to manipulate and format data
    • Troubleshoot problems with GPS fertiliser spreading files
    • Maintain customer database and company CRM system
