    The Role

    We are seeking an organised and target-oriented professional for the role of Journal Transfer Assistant within Frontiers’ Publishing Partnerships department. Reporting to the Journal Transfer Manager, you will support the process of transferring society partner journals to our platform.

    Key responsibilities will include monitoring and supporting the transfer of partner journals to our platform, maintaining and updating a database of information about partner journals, scheduling meetings between the Journal Transfer Manager and society leaders and Editors, and monitoring the progress of ongoing journal transfers. The successful candidate will be highly organised and detail oriented. An understanding of the principles of project management would be beneficial.

The position will provide the successful candidate with an excellent opportunity to work within the growing department of Frontiers Publishing Partnerships.

    This role is offered on a permanent, full-time basis.

    Responsibilities

    • Support the transfer of each partner journal to our platform from the point of contract signature to the launch of the journal on Frontiers’ platform
    • Assist the Journal Transfer Manager in the transfer of manuscripts from previous submission systems
    • Support the onboarding process of editorial board members by scheduling meetings, taking notes during meetings, and sending follow-up information
    • Correspond with internal teams responsible for tasks required to successfully complete journal transfers
    • Maintain a database of relevant information about partner journals
    • Schedule meetings between external stakeholders and the Journal Transfer Manager
    • Support the improvement of relevant standard operating procedures
    • Support the processing of transferred manuscripts by undertaking quality checks, updating Editors, and following up with authors to progress their submissions

    Requirements

    • A detail-oriented personality with excellent communication and organisation skills
    • Enthusiasm and willingness to learn
    • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a timely manner
    • Sound and mature judgement; decisive and tactful when working with multiple stakeholders
    • IT Proficiency with MS Office, experience with Salesforce a plus.
    • Collaborative professional capable of working successfully in teams
