    Introduction

    We currently have an opportunity for an  Accounts Assistant to join the Gallagher Global Accounting Centre in Glasgow.

    As an Accounts Assistant you will play a key role in the accounting function ensuring monthly Management Accounts are accounted for accurately and within agreed timelines.

    How you'll make an impact

    • Preparing and posting month end journals (eg. Accruals, prepayments, TB movements,
      reallocations, etc.), to ensure accurate reporting within reporting deadlines
    • Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and escalating variances as required.
    • Prepare variance analysis and commentary as required.
    • Running GL reports and reconciling to underlying accounting systems
    • Assist in preparation of internal and external reports.
    • Liaising with GCoE and Finance teams to control posting of month end journal transactions and
      balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring results and balances are correctly reported
    • Assistance and support in response to external and internal audit requests
    • Play a key role in continuous improvement initiatives to streamline our processes and ways of
      working with other teams to optimise efficiency
    • Responsibility for payment of accounts payable and bank transactional activity.
    • Preparation of ad hoc analysis as required.
    • Ensure SOX requirements are fully met

    About you

    • Part Qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA/CA/CPA or equivalent)
    • Experience gained within a similar role
    • US GAAP & SOX experience highly desirable
    • Ability to priority manage and adhere to challenging deadlines
    • Flexible attitude to dealing with multiple tasks and environments
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
    • Attention to detail
    • Eligibility to work in the UK
