    Gallagher Re is looking for a Graduate Cat Modeller to join our REACH Programme in our London office. As a Cat Modeller you will be supported by the wider Cat Modelling team. You will be able to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of catastrophe modelling and how this relates to business decisions.

    Your Role

    • Support the Analytics Team in everyday modelling tasks.
    • Convert exposure data provided by clients into the formats required by catastrophe models.
    • Audit client data and portfolios to assess the completeness & accuracy for catastrophe modelling purposes.
    • Quantify the risk to Gallagher Re client portfolios using third party vendor models and Gallagher Re proprietary models.
    • Contribute to service offering development and distribution through collaboration with brokers, cyber security analysts, actuaries and external partners.
    • Understand, evaluate and communicate the impact of vendor model updates.
    • Interpret and communicate model outputs and modelling terminology effectively to all stakeholders (i.e. analysts/ brokers / actuaries / clients/ reinsurers).
    • Work closely with all stakeholders throughout all aspects of the risk quantification process.
    • Collaborate with members of the Broking and Analytic Teams in completing modelling projects, which may involve independent research or fact finding.
    • Gain an understanding of risk management and the role of risk transfer methods, such as reinsurance.

    Your Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in an analytical subject such as Engineering, Mathematics, Economics and Physics
    • Knowledge of the London/global (re)insurance markets would be advantageous
    • Ideally be able to demonstrate innovative applications and solutions for risk assessment
    • Strong problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail
    • Excellent IT skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills
    • Ability to process and understand data quickly and creatively
    • Experience with programming languages such as Python/R
    • The ability to work in a team and highly motivated to learn and grow within a global company
    • Eligibility to work in the UK.
