Gallagher Re is looking for a Graduate Catastrophe Risk Analyst to join our REACH Programme in our London office. As a Graduate Catastrophe Risk Analyst, you will be supporting public-private opportunities in the region, catastrophe renewal modelling, and get involved in the development of technical and parametric solutions and other tailored catastrophe modelling projects.

Your Role:
- Support in everyday modelling tasks.
- Audit client data and portfolios to assess the completeness & accuracy for catastrophe modelling purposes.
- Convert exposure data provided by clients into the formats required by catastrophe models.
- Quantify the catastrophe risk to Gallagher Re client portfolios using vendor catastrophe models and Gallagher Re proprietary models.
- Contribute to service offering development and distribution through collaboration with the research teams and external partners.
- Recognise and evaluate the impact of updates and revisions to models and the outputs produced.
- Communicate results optimally to all collaborators (i.e. cat modellers / brokers / actuaries / clients/ reinsurers).
- Work with all collaborators throughout all aspects of the risk quantification process.
- Real-time reporting and analysis of natural disasters and supporting clients post-event.
- Gain the knowledge of risk management and the role of risk transfer methods, such as reinsurance.
- Support junior members in the team through mentoring and advice.
Your Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications:
- Minimum Degree level in geo-science, geography, risk-management, or natural perils
- Knowledge about insurance and/ or Reinsurance market would be advantageous
- Proven knowledge of at least one vendor model (i.e. RMS, AIR)
- Excellent knowledge of the underlying perils science and model components
- Ideally be able to demonstrate innovative applications and solutions for risk assessment
- Strong problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail
- Excellent IT skills, ideally with computer programming skills (e.g. SQL, VBA, R).
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to process and interpret data quickly and creatively
- The ability to work in a team and highly motivated to learn and grow within a global market leader
- Eligible to work in the UK.
