    What you will be doing

    • Contribute to the maintenance of health and safety standards
    • Act as support for the Performance Team BPOs in the timely delivery of the Operational Excellence Strategy
    • Be accountable for delivery of your own individual annual objectives as defined by the Head of performance and/or BPO
    • Be responsible for supporting Lean Coaches and BPOs in the successful delivery of improvement initiatives and projects
    • Be trained and developed as a Lean Practitioner to an externally recognised standard
    • Be personally accountable for a minimum of one A3, delivering a minimum of £150k savings per annum, supported by a Senior Business Sponsor and Performance Team Lean Coach
    • Express, model and reinforce Lean & behavioural standards in them being the starting point for any improvement or problem solving
    • Become a Lean ‘evangelist’ and a contact for others willing to go on their own Lean journey
    • Actively participate in regular and frequent team meetings and to support workshops as required

    As a Lean Team Member, you will be developed to become a Lean Practitioner with an externally recognised qualification. You’ll be key member of the Galliford Try Highways Performance Team. You will act as a support person for a rotating number of Operational Excellence initiatives which form the Highways OpEx Strategy, supported by a network of Lean Coaches.

    You’ll be expected to ensure adherence to any standards developed by the local Teams or the operational excellence community and be involved in the pragmatic and practical application of Lean thinking, behaviours, tools and methodologies. The focus for this role is being able to deliver through others while being developed. A major focus for this role is to role model the behaviours and ways of working we expect from others across the business “ be the change we want”. As a Lean Team Member, you’ll participate in a number of office based and site based initiatives as part of supporting team objectives and in developing you as a future Lean Practitioner.
