This role will contribute by strengthening the structure of the planning team that is responsible for the company’s delivery of the weekly traincrew diagrams and rosters which enable us to transport goods across the country for our customers.
You will support the planning team with administrative tasks whilst developing your own Railway understanding and knowledge of the rostering and diagramming tools and how we use these to create effective diagrams and rosters using the most cost-effective methods.
This role will be based in our Doncaster office, the role of Trainee Train Planner pays up to £23,500 per annum + benefits.
Responsibilities
- Assisting the planning team with administration duties
- Assisting with the traincrew’s hotel booking requirements and any alterations and cancelations that may be affected by changing customer orders
- Producing cost effective traincrew diagrams
- Producing cost effective traincrew rosters
- Improving traincrew’s competency
Qualifications
Skills and experience
- Minimum of 4 GCSE’s including English and Maths at Grade 9-4 (or equivalent)
- Work experience in a similar role is an advantage but not required
