    You will be involved in GE Digital’s Wide Area Management Systems (WAMS) related projects, tackling problems ranging from analysing data to providing solutions for varied customer business requirements. Our solutions are installed in many of the world’s biggest electricity grid companies.

    You will be introduced to Energy & Power domains and will be guided on related technologies and software we use. You will be guided by structured goals and will have responsibility to deliver in our ADMS projects. You will be fully coached, trained by a mentor and will have a strong support network of experienced staff that are able to help you on technical problems, soft skills and time management. You will gain exciting real-world software engineering experience at a thriving company which is committed to make an impact in the energy world.

    What you'll be doing

    You will use their skills of programming, innovation and engineering skills to implement new ideas, develop tools and applications, or improvise our methods in the projects.

    You will get in contact with stakeholders, customers and colleagues on a day-to-day basis which will require interpersonal, soft and presentation skills. Such an exposure would help you hone your soft skills under our guidance and make you more adaptable and proficient as you work with the teams.

    All interns will partake in an Intern Project over the course of their year of employment. It is an intern led, intern run project which can be seen as a self-contained project aimed at improving and refining aspects of their skill set. It is something that is aimed to help build teamwork, time management and overall skills for the intern within the GE Digital workplace and also the project will benefit the company with new tools/applications/methodologies delivered. All Interns from each department take part in this and work together to achieve an overall goal.

    What you'll need to succeed

    • Following Degree paths accepted: Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, IT, Electronics and Electrical Engineering or similar.
    • Familiarity with Unix/Linux/Windows environments.
    • Experience programming in Java, Python, Shell
    • Understanding of DevOps with tools like GitHub, Jenkins, Docker, Ansible, Kubernetes and others.
    • Understanding of Agile Methodology.
    • Well versed in MS Office Suite of products.
    • Good command of English Language and appreciated if they know other European languages.
    • Excellent analytical and mathematics skills.
    • Ability to accurately follow work process instructions.
