The Electrical Engineer Intern, Rugby, will play a key role in a team dedicated to enabling the Generator Rotor workshop to execute projects to a high quality through process qualification, process implementation, inspection & test plans and tooling provision.
The role
As an Electrical Engineer Intern, you will be expected to provide workshop engineering support to projects in the Rugby Generator Service Centre, collaborate with Core ITR and Product Line Engineers, and support the qualification of new processes and methods into the workshop. Be on-time in fulfilling program objectives, schedules, cost and quality requirements. You will work closely with Core ITR and Product Line Engineers for technical guidance. In this role, you will:
- Provide primary support to the Rugby repair shop activities with Repair Engineering Instructions, Inspection & Test plans, BOM and PRO orders, tooling design and provision, new process implementation and support for existing processes.
- Develop expertise in generator component repair, processes, tooling and testing
- In association with Core ITR Engineers, develop Repair Instructions for and assist regional RTEs with repair disposition in Power Now, repair instruction maintenance and updates.
- Provide support to the development and improvement of existing generator maintenance, and repair processes and procedures.
- Support cost reduction, cycle reduction, and product quality enhancement projects
- Author or contribute to the development of Repair Instructions / work instructions / standards and design practices associated with this technology area. Highlight lessons learned and makes repair practices / design standards changes or other appropriate changes in practices to prevent reoccurrence
- Contribute to engineering design review activities, and lessons learned
