This is an exciting opportunity to join the Monitoring and Diagnostics team, based in Lisburn, Northern Ireland. Our mission is to develop state of the art monitoring technologies, generally deployed in an Electrical Substation, allowing a customer to understand and optimize the operating condition of their Electrical Power Transformers, circuit breakers and other substation assets.
We are looking for a dynamic and talented individual to join our team within the Global Supply Chain division you will be responsible for delivering a wide range of projects to support the growth of our business, Improve and/or develop global supply chain processes and to improve product quality by using lean and 6 sigma approach and effectively working in a cross-functional environment.
Job Description
Responsibilities
- Support analysis of existing processes and execution of improvements
- Root cause analysis of reported productions issues
- Collaborate with the quality team to establish quality control measures, standards, and procedures
- Collaborate with production teams to provide support in troubleshooting manufacturing problems
- Review Production line Layout and re-structuring
- Support project planning and execution of tasks to set timeline
- Collaborate with the product development team during the design and prototyping stages to ensure manufacturability and cost-effectiveness Support of daily production activities
- Support feasibility studies and provide input on design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) principles
- Improve H&S and Ergonomics in production cells
- Learn and apply lean tools and technics
- Develop and implement Process improvement through automation
- Review and up-date documented processes as required
Essential Criteria
- Fluency in spoken and written English is essential.
- Degree in Engineering/Science (preferably Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical and Mechanical, but all considered)
- Competency with Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel
- Demonstrated time management capability
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and systems
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment or independently on multiple projects with strict completion deadlines.
- Good writing skills, accuracy and an eye for detail.
Desired Criteria
- Previous industrial work experience
- Ability to collaborate across various functions and levels within the operations team
- Confident at programming in excel and managing or developing databases/macros
- Experience with Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies
- Familiar with programming language example Labview or Matlab
- Motivated to eliminate waste and problem solving
