    The Dogger Bank projects include the provision of 277 Haliade-X wind turbines to be installed offshore UK from 2023. The candidate will join the project covering a broad range of Mechanical Pre-Assembly and Installation works during, tower pre-assembly at the marshalling harbour, load out and seafastening to/on the installation vessel, installation offshore and providing support in design / execution of associated tooling equipment.

    Reporting to the Installation Package Manager, the candidate will support the Doggerbank T&I team to ensure all project documentation, processes and systems are delivered in a timely manner allowing a seamless delivery of the project. He/she shall assist with the development of RAMS documents to a high standard and follow up with the implementation and execution during operations. Alongside documentation he/she will assist with the ongoing management of Material/Equipment tracking, tooling delivery HAZID & Risk Assessment support and interfacing across the project functions and 3rd Parties.

    The key responsibilities for the Mechanical Engineering Intern are to support the T&I team with:

    • Ensuring that all T&I deliverables are produced and executed to a high standard and that they are successfully implemented and followed for site operations.
    • Ensuring that 3rd Parties (client, suppliers and sub-contractors) are aware of the documentation requirements.
    • Liaising with other internal GE departments (Quality, EHS, Commissioning, Tooling & Marine teams) to maintain each departmental requirements.
    • Play a key role on site, ensuring procedures and processes are adhered to.
    • Assist with the development and maintenance of the project Master Equipment List (MEL), including the tracking of all project material and equipment.
    • Maintain and submit as-built information during execution phase.
    • Attend and/or host project meetings and necessary participants.
    • Assist with optimisation studies and risk mitigations
    • Develop training and familiarisation material through 3D animations
    • Inputs towards procurement processes and development of Scope of Work documentation
    • Attend and witness SIT’s/FAT’s
    • Willingness to go offshore to provide project technical representation
    • Flexibility and open mind to take on multiple activities and challenge current methods and processes

    The successful candidate shall ideally have/be

    • Engineering degree, honors or equivalent in civil, mechanical, or structural engineering, naval architecture or similar or equivalent knowledge or experience
    • Demonstrable experience or university background in a relevant area of structural design or analysis.
    • Good Knowledge of Microsoft Office and design software (CAD).
