    We now have an excellent opportunity for a you to join the Cologne, Singapore, London, Madrid or Paris Office as a Trainee Property or Casualty Underwriter.

    Position Description

    Gen Re provides Underwriter Trainees with real autonomy and a high level of responsibility from the start of their career. With the support of colleagues, our underwriters seek out business opportunities through regular marketing activities and evaluate complex risk scenarios, offering risk transfer solutions to our clients. Successful underwriters acquire in-depth knowledge of clients in order to develop and implement a sales and marketing strategy for the companies for which they are responsible.

    Upon joining the company, you will benefit from comprehensive in-house training in order to acquire the technical, commercial and cultural fundamentals of our Group. This may involve international travel.

    • A University degree or relevant work experience
    • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
    • Capacity to work effectively in a team environment
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Excellent interpersonal skills
    • Additional market relevant foreign language skills would be advantageous
