    We have a great opportunity for an experienced project officer to bring their creativity to a varied and fast-paced role in medical regulation communications. Your expertise in leading and supporting projects using established frameworks and methodologies will help us to deliver our communications work.

    About the General Medical Council

    We work with doctors, patients, and other stakeholders to support good, safe patient care across the UK. We set the standards doctors and those who train them need to meet, and help them achieve them. If there are concerns these standards may not be met or that public confidence in doctors may be at risk, we can investigate, and take action if needed.

    About the Communications project officer role

    This role is an exciting opportunity to develop your existing knowledge/experience of communications work and project management in the field of medical regulation communications. As a valued member of our communications project management office, you will have the opportunity to lead and support a varied range of communications projects. Working closely with colleagues in our Marketing Communications, Media and Strategic Communications teams, you’ll learn more about what we do, how we do it, and why it is so important to our diverse audiences.

    Working collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation to achieve our strategic aims, you need to be a great communicator, able to process and convey complex information clearly, adapting your delivery to the meet the specific needs of diverse audiences.

    About you

    You will have strong organisational skills and will utilise your knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications, MS Project Online and other project management tools to help you to plan, document, and report on our portfolio of projects.

    You’ll have the opportunity to use your advanced problem-solving skills to develop imaginative solutions, applying your strategic thinking skills to ensure the smooth delivery of our projects, on time, and to budget.

    This is a hybrid role between home working and office working, you’ll work 1 day a week in the office, or more if you prefer. We may ask you to attend the office on additional days where necessary, for example team meetings and ad hoc attendance to complete training and project duties as required.
