What you’ll be doing
The Finance Associate will be a key member of the Finance team and will work closely with colleagues across the business at all levels of seniority to support a range of financial transactions. This role is responsible for all receivable and payable data into the company finance system across multiple geographies and currencies, managing all employee expenses and ensuring all transactions are correctly coded.
You will play an important part in supporting the team on collating data for our R&D tax credit calculations, financial audits, and the preparation of accruals and prepayments schedules during month-end close. The role will also assist with the preparation of management reports monthly including reports comparing actuals with budget.
The Finance Associate will have project ownership for process improvements within the Finance Team, which will often impact teams across the business, further giving the opportunity to understand and collaborate with all areas of the business.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the financial accounting system with up to date and accurate data at all times.
- Ensure expense claims are in line with policy and reviewed, approved and paid in a timely manner.
- Ensure customer invoices are raised promptly and customers are supported in delivering payment when due.
- Ensure suppliers are paid in line with contracted payment terms.
- Continued process improvement is welcomed across all financial processes and those where we collaborate with other teams in the business.
Requirements
- Familiar with G-suite applications and Microsoft excel. Strong organisation and administrative skills, with an excellent eye for detail.
- Commitment to deliver tasks to agreed timelines in a professional and accurate manner.
- A desire to progress in your Finance career.
- Interest in completing professional qualification – e.g. ACCA or CIMA which will be sponsored by Genomics.
