Graduate Development at GHD
GHD’s Graduate Program is aimed at developing our future leaders and technical specialists.
During the course of our two-year global graduate development programme our Graduate Engineers will work with our Engineering teams developing skills across a wide variety of projects in the Energy, Industrial, Water, Property and Buildings [DP3] sectors both in the UK and overseas. Your contribution will make a positive lasting benefit to the environment and our communities.
Whilst learning about our business, our values, your team, and most importantly, yourself you will develop your decision-making, communication, technical and leadership skills.
We offer mentoring and a variety of development activities, providing on the job experience and exposure to a diverse range of projects, as well as support towards gaining chartered status within your engineering field.
What we are looking for
There is a huge opportunity over the coming decades to be a part of a wholesale re-imagining of how energy systems are structured, delivered and operated.
GHD is looking for enthusiastic, pro-active and forward-thinking Graduate Engineers to embrace this opportunity and be part of our growing power team, delivering a range of power generation, energy conversion, electricity transmission and distribution projects for our clients in Europe, the Middle East and Australia.
We are seeking engineers to join our power team in Newcastle upon Tyne. Based in Newcastle upon Tyne office, you will be reporting to a Team Leader and collaborating across sectors. Your anticipated responsibilities include:
- Support the team working on a diverse range of projects typically for energy project developers or funders
- Produce technical studies and reports that enable clients to progress their projects in a timely manner through financial close and into detailed design, procurement and construction
- Develop design concepts and project specifications
- Deliver and be accountable for technical assignments
- Develop your decision-making, communication and technical skills
