Our Global Technology Centre
Our new Global Technology Centre (GTC) in Filton, Bristol is a £32m state of the art technology research and development facility. It acts as a hub for world-class innovative technology for the next generation of fuel-efficient aircraft. It offers a collaborative space for research and development with universities, the UK’s CATAPULT network and GKN Aerospace’s UK supply chain, to help strengthen aerospace technology and support the UK’s Industrial strategy.

About The Role
Project Name: Future Flight Technology and Strategy
Working on this project will give you the opportunity to;
- Design and analyse electric Vertical Take-off and Landing (eVTOL) aircraft
- Carry out conceptual design and trade study work on eVTOL aircraft including CAD modelling, hand calculations and basic simulation work
- Support economic analysis for Advanced Air Mobility use cases
- Support cost modelling of eVTOL aircraft and operations
- Gain an insight in new aircraft concepts including electric and autonomous aircraft
- Gain knowledge in developing an understanding of and applying design and engineering processes
- Gain an insight into the Aerospace market, and its developments in sustainability through the application of technologies.
- Demonstrate your communication and influencing skills - working with our Technology teams enabling effective team decision making.
- Learn and develop your Project Management skills; to understand a project brief, and then work independently in researching and analysing the problem/opportunity, suggesting solutions and the implementing a recommendation
Job Qualifications
In order to be considered for this role you will need to be studying towards a degree, or have completed your studies in one of the following subjects:
- Engineering; ideally aerospace/aeronautical engineering but open to other engineering types
