About the role
We are looking for highly motivated engineering graduates who are keen to develop into the future engineering, operational and technical leaders. Working at our manufacturing sites you will help to ensure we have the latest, safe, efficient and reliable processes and equipment to deliver life-saving medicines and vaccines to people in 90 % of the world’s countries. This role will enable you to develop your skills in an industry that’s making radical changes to the way it develops and manufactures products.

Over three rotations, our Future Leaders graduate programme will challenge and support you to grow professionally and personally. You will have challenging rotations in business-critical roles where you will have the opportunity to meet senior leaders and network with other graduates. You will also improve your technical skills while gaining valuable leadership expertise.

What will you do?
At GSK you will be working at manufacturing sites that supply medicines to patients around the world. On the Automation Future Leaders Programme, you will build an understanding of the state-of-the-art technologies we use and have the opportunity to work with (and in) cross-functional, multi-cultural teams – delivering business critical projects. You can expect to develop your knowledge and gain experience in the following areas:
- Introducing new digital technologies to transform our business
- Optimize the performance of the control systems that are part of our manufacturing operations, e.g., maintaining and troubleshooting site control systems
- Deliver automation projects, such as defining and implementing design improvements, upgrading, and installing control systems and robotics systems, and ensuring that suppliers and site equipment comply with international standards
- Testing and commissioning
- Identify and mitigate potential Cyber security risks or vulnerabilities related to Operational Technology hardware and software
- Gain hands-on knowledge of digital technologies, the business, and the role that Automation plays in supplying our patients

Our Future Leaders Graduate Programme is designed to accelerate the development of graduates who don’t have significant previous professional work experience in the area to which they are applying. Of course, many graduates who join the programme have worked while studying or after graduation. If you’ve already developed substantial experience working in a professional role in your sector, while you would be able to apply for this programme, you may also want to look at direct entry roles in our businesses, as these may be the best way to build on your existing skills and expertise and develop a career at GSK.
