    Our approach to R&D focuses on science related to the prevention and treatment of disease with vaccines, specialty and general medicines. We focus on science of the immune system, human genetics and advanced technologies to impact health at scale. Our pipeline currently comprises of more than 60 vaccines and medicines across four core therapeutic areas including oncology, infectious diseases, immunology / respiratory and HIV.

    Industrial Placement in Global Investigative Safety (Non-Clinical Safety)

    • The placement will be positioned within the Global Investigative Safety group within Non-Clinical Safety. The group are involved in the design and execution of bespoke
    • transcriptional and cellular studies to investigate and validate mechanistic hypotheses regarding safety across all phases of the drug development process.
    • Team members have expertise in mitochondrial, lysosomal, gastrointestinal and liver toxicity.
    • The project will allow the further development of computational biology skills, working on the analysis and interpretation of complex data generated from multiple analytical instruments (flow cytometry, multi-parametric cellular imaging).
    • The candidate will identify and implement innovative approaches for data analysis and will be trained on how to develop bioinformatics pipelines in Python / R to support the activities of the Global Investigative Safety team. Moreover, the candidate will learn how to communicate complex analyses results with bench scientists, management and people with different professional backgrounds, both orally and as written reports. This will aid current and future projects with decision making regarding the development of compounds
