We are looking to recruit a highly motivated, new team member who is keen to further their career in immunoassay analysis alongside complimentary automation techniques  Working with human biological samples (in a GCP compliant laboratory) you will help develop, troubleshoot and validate bespoke LBA methods and use these to support PK and PD/biomarker endpoints.

The team supports pharmacokinetic (PK) and soluble biomarker measurements using Ligand Binding Assays (LBA), ELISpot and automated Western Blotting techniques. The data we generate is critical to helping GSK Project Teams make decisions on progressing new molecules towards becoming medicines.

The role is highly technical and dynamic as you will be working in a number of multi-disciplinary project teams. Key Responsibilities

  • Delivery of scientific data to project/program teams in a timely manner by performing data analysis, record keeping and reporting of results to agreed timelines
  • Handling of human biological samples and performing experimental work in accordance with HBSM, safety and data integrity guidelines

Basic Qualifications

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • BSc (or equivalent) in in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Immunology or related discipline
  • Experience in a regulated laboratory such as GCP, GMP or similar
  • Post graduate practical experience in a laboratory deploying LBA techniques

Preferred Qualifications

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Immunology or related discipline focused on the development and deployment of quantitative immunoassays
  • excellent attention to detail, good communication skills and strong laboratory technique.  
  • Strong practical knowledge/experience of LBA (e.g. ELISA, ECLIA etc) and/or EliSpot
  • Knowledge/experience of supporting regulated bioanalytical methods
  • Experience in the measurement of biomarkers
  • Knowledge of GCP would also be highly advantageous
  • Prior experience with/knowledge of common platforms (ELISA/MSD/Quanterix Simoa/Gyros) would be beneficial
