ViiV Healthcare is a specialist company established by GlaxoSmithKline and Pfizer in 2009, with the addition of Shionogi in 2012 after working together on the development of several drugs. We are focused solely on the research, development and commercialisation of medicines to treat HIV. Our aim is to take a deeper and broader interest in HIV/AIDS than any company has done before and take a unique approach to deliver new and effective HIV medicines as well as supporting communities affected by HIV.
About the Role
As an integral member of the International medical team, the medical operations manager will play a key role on helping us deliver our ambitious regional plans. The medical operations manager will be involved in cross-functional teams and projects that will allow them to work with (senior) leaders from the global and regional medical, commercial, government affairs and market access departments.
This experience will allow the successful candidate to develop/reinforce communication skills, stakeholder management, leadership, influencing and networking skills. They will also be involved in the scientific training of the regional teams as well as the planning and implementation of the long-term strategies for the key products for our region, having a clear mindset of prioritizing the wellbeing of people living with HIV.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development of innovative medical materials that support the needs of the countries across the region with the guidance of the regional medical leads.
- Support the delivery of the regional medical plan.
- Coordinate the preparation of our data dissemination plans, including the identification of data needs.
- Organize and facilitate International headquarter meetings, including leadership team meetings, and prepare meeting materials as per team’s needs (e.g., slide decks, reports, minutes)
- Support regional training and development programs (serve as SPOC for vendor and coordinate material development).
- Support budget management by coordinating POs, invoices and timely payments
- Support coordination of contracts and agreements for regional advisory boards, congresses and IMEs
Preferred Skills
- Clear interest on HIV and helping people living with HIV
- Scientific background/interest in science
- Good communicator
- Interest in project management
- Experience or interest on facilitating meetings with multiple stakeholders
- Team player
- Self-motivated, flexible, and sensitive to the needs of others.
Degree Requirements
You must be studying a science related degree. You will have completed a minimum of 2 years of your undergraduate degree, but will not have graduated at the start of your placement. You may be expected to provide evidence from your university to show you will be an undergraduate student for the duration of the placement year and they are supportive of your placement.
