We’re looking for leaders of the future in experimental chemistry in our Medicinal Chemistry department

What will you do?
- Demonstrate high synthetic productivity.
- Work as part of a team in a medicinal chemistry laboratory using state-of-the art equipment.
- Record experimental work.
- Analyse and interpret analytical data.

- Keep up to date with synthetic chemistry scientific and technical developments.

You’ll be excited by the thought of:
- Gaining experience as a laboratory based synthetic organic chemists and carrying out experimental work within medicinal chemistry
- Designing and executing synthetic plans to deliver small quantities of compound for biological evaluation
- Analysing data and designing compounds to test medicinal chemistry hypotheses.
- Working across key areas of Medicinal Chemistry through three rotations in Chemistry, Lead Optimisation and High Throughput Chemistry
- Developing exceptional Laboratory, Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry and Technology skills
- On our 2-year rotational programme you will be supported by a senior chemist to develop experience, knowledge and capabilities as a Lab Based Scientist
You’ll need
- To be able to set up and conduct chemistry experiments with due regard to safety procedures.
- A sound understanding of synthetic organic chemistry.
- Excellent IT skills.
- Candidates must be highly proficient in verbal and written English and must have strong communication skills.
- Be committed to personal professional development.
Education required
Bachelor’s degree in chemical sciences.
