The Project Management Graduate (Project Pipeline and Resource Management (PPRM) Centre Of Excellence Project Lead) is an enterprise role and key member of the Pharma R&D function in Strategy, Portfolio and Operations that is responsible for project management and leadership of the GSK pipeline of new breakthrough medicines to solve global medical needs (Such a COVID 19 Vaccines) and is at the heart of GSK’s ambition to be highest performing leader in Industry.
The role resides within the Project Management Excellence team that is responsible for the establishment and maintenance of Project Management processes, business rules and practices across GSK R&D, to support the drug/vaccine development with excellence in project management discipline across all phases. This encompasses methodologies, training and behaviours enabling the teams to manage the projects efficiently.
What will you do?
You will be accountable for:
- Leadership of Project Management methodologies. Supporting the development, implementation and management of the project management methodologies such as processes, business rules, practices to support the project managers and the project teams.
- Support complex projects, capturing business needs from the stakeholders (project managers, global functional leads Portfolio, Finance etc).
- Supports maintenance of the whole drug/vaccine development framework working across Commercial, R&D and Supply Chain leadership teams.
- Partners with other teams in the PPRM CoE or TECH to develop the fit-for-purpose systems.
- Develops and provides onboarding and training and support the Project Management community in applying the PM methodologies.
- Drive continuous improvement of the PM methodologies and infrastructure, liaising with relevant partners (Internal and External) to achieve it.
- Ensures promotion and anchorage of Project Management Excellence principles across the R&D organization
- Captures external trends and innovation related to the PM discipline, and ensuring GSK R&D remains at the edge of the industry for the PM methodologies and infrastructure.

Education required
A degree in Project Management or related field is desirable. Degrees in Business Management (or related discipline), a scientific discipline, Maths/Physics, or Engineering will also align with the skills required.
