    ViiV Healthcare is a specialist company established by GlaxoSmithKline and Pfizer in 2009, with the addition of Shionogi in 2012 after working together on the development of several drugs.     You will be expected to bring creativity and energy to work in a matrix organisation to collect content to feed the channels strategy across different areas within Communications. At the same time, it is required to be good at planning and have strong organisation skills to maintain the channels calendar and deliver according to plan.

    The role also aims to develop the candidate’s management skills, through ensuring the chosen candidate will be given specific projects to manage and deliver, to address development needs highlighted in their programme in line with their professional ambition and university curriculum as much as possible.

    You will also be trained on the job in relation to understanding the media environment, HIV landscape and will be given opportunities to attend training and workshop sessions with the global comms team as appropriate. You will be connected into the global communication team at GSK in which beyond the ViiV global comms team, they have access to a broader network of communicators, including peers as GSK.

Please note, these are distinct placements and so when you apply you will be able to select a preference of where you would like to be placed if successful.     • Role 1: Global Communications Executive
    • Role 2: Positive Action Placement Student

    Role 1: Global Communications Executive: GSK House, Brentford

    The Global Communications role will enable the student to work in a high progressing communications strategy to co-ordinate and leverage external digital activity to build expertise in digital communications across the function. To achieve these ambitions and drive engagement within ViiV’s narrative it is critical that the Communications team has world class digital channels which allow them to match the needs and behaviours of our users with the strategy for improved reputation globally, in the US as our major market and other local teams.

    Please read below about the key responsibilities of the role:

    • Make WEB content updates working with Tech team
    • Manage content calendars and create digital content
    • Upload press release and other news updates to our website
    • Attendance at relevant agency calls and team meetings
    • Support on content, structure/ design refresh and liaise with reviewers for approval process
    • Manage ViiV’s social media global channels from the community management perspective
    • Support corporate communications team by collecting key clips and putting together a weekly summary to inform the broader business

    Role 2: Positive Action Placement Student: GSK House, Brentford

    The Global Positive Action role will work towards the delivery of the Global Positive Action mission to be a transformational partner that champions people and communities to end AIDS. Our vision is healthy communities in a world free of AIDS. Positive Action does this through putting people and communities first, strengthening capacity and collaborating strategically.

    To achieve our mission, we will require you to play an important connecting and enabling role within the Positive Action team. You will have an opportunity to understand Positive Action’s role within ViiV Healthcare. The role will work cross functionally and provide an opportunity to expand your understanding of corporate giving and the impact that this can have.

    Please read below about the key responsibilities of the role:

    • Report reviews including understanding objectives, narrative, data, learnings and budget. Then drawing insights from across all thematic areas to support the future direction of Positive Action strategy
    • Supporting role in managing all Positive Action website and social media content
    • Manage agenda and actions from key Positive Action internal meetings
    • Supporting Positive Action activities, presence and logistics at priority conferences and strategic platforms
    • Supporting the dashboard facility in pulling regular reports to develop insights across the portfolio and ensuring upcoming payments are on track linked to annual grantee report submissions
