    Internship Summary

    Cummins are delighted to announce another year of its exclusive Internship opportunity, in partnership with Gowling WLG, Baker & McKenzie, K&L Gates, and Mayer Brown.

    This Internship will provide paid legal work experience to students who identify as being from a historically underrepresented background. Being a good lawyer goes beyond just understanding the law. This opportunity has been designed to provide an insight into the perspective of life as a lawyer, working within the in-house legal team at a multinational corporation, understanding the business and how the client operates. In turn, the opportunity to gain experience from the perspective of an international commercial law firm, advising their clients, collaborating across teams and sectors within the firm.

    What does the programme involve?

    Four students or graduates will be recruited for the Internships, scheduled to take place from 11th August -22nd August.

    The successful applicants will experience first-hand legal experience for one-week at the London office of either Gowling WLG, Baker & McKenzie, K&L Gates, or Mayer Brown. Applicants will also spend one week at the London offices of Cummins.

    Who is eligible for the programme?

    In order to be eligible, you should meet the following criteria:

    • You are an undergraduate or graduate (non-law or law)
    • You have not undertaken any in-person legal work experience.
    • You identify as being from a historically underrepresented background
    • You are interested in working as a Solicitor in the UK

    Please note, preference will be given to applicants who meet one or more of the following social mobility criteria:

    • You attended a non-fee-paying school for your secondary education
    • You are a first-generation university student/graduate
    • You have been in receipt of Free School Meals
    • You have regularly undertaken paid working during the ages of 16-18, during term time
    • You have regularly undertaken paid work during university time
    • You are, or have been, a parent or registered carer
    • You have spent time in local authority care
    • You came to this country as a refugee/asylum seeker
    • You have not undertaken any in-person work experience 

    How do I apply?

    In order to be considered for this Internship, you should submit the attached application form and a CV of no more than two pages in length to anisah.shah@cummins.com and ajhar.alam@cummins.com by the deadline of 5pm Friday 27th June 2025. Successful applicants will be invited to interview with the Cummins legal team (online) to take place between 30th June 2025-21st July 2025
