    As the GRAHAM Business continues to grow, we are in the fortunate position to recruit for an enthusiastic student to join us on a Year Out placement on our BIM and Digital Construction Team.

    The BIM and Digital Construction Team support project teams on all aspects of BIM compliance through to assisting the construction site delivery team in the use of Digital Construction technologies. The role may require some travel to regional offices and sites to support this work.

    What you'll do

    The BIM and Digital Construction – Year Out Placement will support the BIM and Digital Team in the areas listed below. Full support by the BIM and Digital construction will be provided.

    BIM

    • Support the production, management and compliance of BIM Policy and strategy in line with ISO19650 requirements
    • Support and take responsibility for the use Specialist BIM software to support project delivery
    • Support and take responsibility on all aspects of project BIM delivery as set out in GRAHAM BIM Processes and IMS as required
    • Support in the identification of appropriate hardware and software for use on BIM Projects
    • Represent GRAHAM and provide advice and material for GRAHAM construction bids in relation to BIM
    • Identify and highlight project risks in terms of BIM delivery against standards
    • Ensure BIM KPI targets are agreed and met
    • Audit BIM projects as required and proactively seek to improve performance
    • Identify benefits and lessons learned for every BIM project that is completed and put in place continuous improvement

    Digital Construction

    • Support in the identification of new software and solutions relevant to the GRAHAM business and Digital Construction
    • Lead in the role of providing advice and material for GRAHAM construction bids in relation to Digital Construction
    • Lead the management and review of the software application portfolio, identifying potential new software and solutions required for both delivery teams on site and back office teams for BIM and Digital Construction
    • Understand solutions lifecycle, and exploit standard solutions throughout the GRAHAM business, identify solutions that are not providing value and be part of the team to retire these solutions
    • Identity benefits and lessons learned in terms of Digital Construction for every project completed and proactively seek to improve
    • Ensure Digital Construction KPI targets are agreed and met

    User Support

    • Take ownership for all business function requests within Digital Construction and their support within the IT function
    • Manage and own case/issues log with 3rd party vendors as required
    • Escalate Service Level Agreement issues/non-deliverables to line manager

    Training & Documentation

    • Support BIM and Digital Construction training strategic and tactical plans
    • Support the developed, deployment and maintenance of training materials for key BIM and Digital Construction solutions within remit
    • Identify, prepare and deliver training needs within remit
    • Support the preparation of business process and end-user documentation, advise of updates in areas of responsibility
    • Proactively ensure all IT documentation for change requests, projects and processes are prepared & validated in a timely manner/in accordance with initiative delivery plan

    This job description is intended to give the placement student an appreciation of the role of the BIM and Digital Construction Team. The placement student will be supporting these responsibilities, and will be given full support by the BIM and Digital Construction Team.

    It does not attempt to detail every activity. Specific tasks and objectives will be agreed with the post holder at regular intervals.

    Additional information

    • Job is located at home and head office (hybrid working)
    • Some travel to other sites may be necessary.
    • Provision of application support, outside normal working hours may be required to minimise business disruption and downtime.
    • The above accountabilities are not exhaustive, and you may be required at the Company’s discretion to undertake other duties from time to time.
