As the GRAHAM business continues to grow and develop, we are looking for an enthusiastic Year Out Placement Student to assist the Planning Department through the role of Trainee Planner.
The role of the Trainee Planner is to provide planning support to the business and project management teams and to comply with all policies and procedures contained within GRAHAM’s governance systems.
The Trainee Planner shall
- Assist/support Planner(s) in the analysis of tender information and preparation of tender programmes
- Assist/support Planner(s) in the preparation of master programmes
- Analyse/assist / support Planner(s) in labour resource and plant
- Assist/support Planner(s) in assessing / evaluate construction methods and techniques
- Assist/support Planner(s) in the preparation of prelims
- Assist/support Planner(s) in preparation procurement and information schedules
- Assist/support 4D Planning – Linking 3d models to programme inc: progress
- Assist/support Planner(s) in assessing project progress positions
- Assist/support Planner(s) in production of graphical presentations using CAD etc.
- Assist/support / co-ordinate the distribution of programmes
- Support the smooth running of planning department
This job description is intended to give the post holder an appreciation of the role envisaged for Trainee Planner and the range of duties to be undertaken.

Technical competencies
Essential:
- Hold or working towards a Bachelor's degree in a relevant Construction field
- Ideally some experience in a construction related environment or genuine interest in the industry
- Proficient in Excel, Word and Power Point with
- Have knowledge and understanding of Asta
- Willing to obtain a CSCS card
- Possess full driving licence
- Methodical with a keen eye for detail
- Able to build and maintain credible relationships with colleagues and clients
- Willing to make decisions and take responsibility
