Every day our Reward Advisory Services (RAS) team helps people in businesses and communities to do what is right and achieve their goals. Our Reward Advisory Services (RAS) team forms a crucial part of our Employer Solutions tax offering - working closely with clients to design and implement the right employee incentive arrangements for a wide range of private, AIM and FTSE listed companies across the country and across the world and assist them with their employment tax and social security compliance obligations.

    To continue the growth of our RAS practice, we are looking for a graduate who want to build a career problem solving in a dynamic and fast-growing area of tax. We are a friendly team of experienced individuals, with backgrounds from legal sectors as well as tax, positioning our team well for growth and provide excellent development and progression opportunities within the team.

    Our Tax practice is comprised of over 15 different teams with over 40 partners, working with clients in sectors including, media and entertainment, technology, finance and non-for-profit. Joining the tax service line, you will be passionate about understanding the issues that are important to our clients and their businesses and helping them do what is right. There’ll definitely be challenges along the way, but you’ll be supported and able to meet each one with a solution. That’s how you excel here.

    Our three-year graduate programme is designed to take you on a journey from graduate to being a professionally qualified and highly skilled individual in a dynamic and fast-growing team. The skills you will obtain will set you apart in the tax environment!

    Here’s a glimpse of what you’ll experience during your first three years:

    • You'll get challenging on-the-ground experience, working with a variety of businesses across all sectors, supporting the team to deliver domestic and international tax advice
    • Hands on experience with the implementation of employee reward/incentive arrangements, with a strong commercial and practical focus
    • Helping clients meet their UK (HMRC) reporting obligations and tax commitments
    • Responsibility from early in your career, taking ownership for interesting and challenging client work
    • You’ll develop a strong internal and external network to learn from
    • On the job learning, alongside our committed and experienced team of professionals
    • A structured training programme, with time to study and revise for your exams, and supported by us all the way to become ATT and then CTA qualified so that you have the technical expertise and insight to advise our clients

    We have a trust-based way of working at Grant Thornton, driven by responsible people who have the best interests of our firm and our clients at heart. Our teams work between our offices, client sites, at their homes with trainees also attending college as required. As a trainee, in-person working is important and is a great way to help you learn even more about the firm and the work we do, as well building relationships and connections with your peers. Once you know the team you will be joining, we will advise of their working patterns, and of course where required there is flex within this.

    Study 

    You’ll need to be focused, committed, and organised as a trainee, to balance your study and work requirements. You will be provided with study leave to help you complete your professional qualification but you will also find you need to study in your spare time outside of your working hours. Completing a professional qualification is a substantial commitment and its worth taking this into consideration before applying.
