    An exciting opportunity for a Finance & Accounting Student to join us at Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (GMMH). This role is a 12 month fixed term contract available from August 2023, for a Student who is looking for work based experience and is able to demonstrate good communication skills and initiative.

    GMMH is looking to employ a student with knowledge in the field of Accounting and Finance, with core IT skills including Excel.

    You must be currently in your second year of studying for an Accounting & Finance degree, with the ambition to pursue a career in Accounting and Finance after graduation.

    Placements will be within the Finance directorate and may involve visits across our sites. The selection process will consist of a formal interview and a work-based presentation. This will take place during March.

    Main Duties of the Job

    Based in the Management Accounts Team, the Student will gain first-hand experience of the different functions of a finance department and the overall management of a large complex organisation. The role will support the provision of financial services to the Trust budget holders and be involved with project work to enable the department to achieve its objectives.

    The post holder will gain an insight into how the NHS is organised, funded and performance managed and will develop links with colleagues both within and outside of the organisation.
