    We are now looking for a Business Reporter (12 month fixed term contract or staff secondment). You'll focus on business news, features and provide agenda setting analysis across our platforms.

    The business desk has investigated stories ranging from a sexual misconduct scandal at the CBI to tracing the hidden assets of Russian oligarchs. The ideal candidate will be interested in issues ranging from post-Brexit trade and the impact of climate change on agriculture to diversity in the workplace and the cost of living crisis.

    About the role

    • Gathering of news across all business sectors
    • Writing breaking news, features, exclusive off-diary news and agenda-setting analysis and opinion
    • High level engagement with business leaders, governments, trade bodies, international bodies and regulators

    About you

    • Understanding of business and economics
    • Proven news reporting experience, ideally in the fields of business or economics
    • Proven ability to generate exclusive news stories
    • Feature writing experience
    • Ideally, you'll have a demonstrable ability to bring a diverse perspective to this role
