    The Business Applications team at GNM manages a broad portfolio of applications supporting our commercial and editorial activities, including CRM (Salesforce), advertising Sales Order Processing and Fulfilment, and Production systems for digital, print and memberships.

    This is an opportunity to work as a junior Salesforce developer in a cross-functional business applications team, supporting and developing a large Salesforce implementation at one of the UK's most successful media outlets.

    You will be working collaboratively with other highly skilled Salesforce administrators and a senior Salesforce developer as well as engaging with stakeholders across the business.

    What you’ll be doing

    Application Support

    • Support user queries and requests for changes and improvements: be a face of Technology to the wider business
    • Solve user and system issues in a timely and efficient manner
    • Identify risks, issues and opportunities in our Salesforce instances.

    Continuous Improvement and Development

    • Configuring/customising Salesforce in a complex environment
    • Adopting a structured approach to systems analysis and development
    • Object Oriented and tiered design methodologies.
    • Development of Apex, VisualForce, Lightning web components and SOQL
    • Using the core Salesforce products such as Service Cloud, Sales Cloud, Marketing Cloud and Pardot
    • Salesforce Platform Developer I certification or equivalent is desirable

    Application Integration and Performance

    • Work with the Integration/Development team and other technology staff to ensure that applications are performing efficiently

    Training and Documentation

    • Deliver ad hoc application training
    • Create and maintain application support documentation
    • Cascade Salesforce knowledge across the wider team.

    We strive for transparency in remuneration. The salary for new developers at the Guardian is £42,000-£46,000.
