    As Women's Football Writer, you'll supply football news, features and analysis.

    It's an exciting time to be joining the team as we look to expand our coverage of women's football.You'll break exclusive stories, produce strong match reports and write compelling features.

    The successful candidate will work in collaboration with our women's football correspondent. The role will be largely focused on women's football, and could be based in London or in the north of England.

    About the role

    • Break exclusive stories
    • Writing match reports, colour pieces, and match analysis
    • Producing stories, interviews and analysis about the women's game and broader issues surrounding women's sport
    • Contributing to our podcasts, video and other multimedia coverage
    • Covering other sports as directed by the sports desk

    About you

    • Ability to generate exclusive, off-diary news stories
    • Ability to write match reports and reaction pieces to deadline
    • Feature writing experience
    • Excellent understanding of the Guardian's sport coverage online, audio and in print
    • Ideally you will have a demonstrable ability to bring a diverse perspective to the role
