The world of HR covers a multitude of roles and departments. This could be from an HR generalist at one of our sites managing all employee related issues as well as the engagement and wellbeing of our colleagues, to working within our inhouse Talent Acquisition team who are always searching for the best talent to join our ever-growing business.

Or you could be working within our award-winning Learning & Development team promoting our apprenticeship programmes or working our portfolio of over 30,000 existing learning courses. You could have the opportunity to experience any of these responsibilities as you develop throughout your bespoke programme.

So, if you’ve always dreamt of a career within HR but never quite found the right opportunity or graduated with a degree in HR or a related subject and are looking for a graduate programme where you can develop into a future HR leader, this is definitely the programme for you!

What you’ll do on a typical day

Be prepared to experience all aspects of HR on our programme! On your graduate journey, you’ll experience 3 placements of 8 months in length. You could be working at one of our sites or in our Central HR team creating contracts and processing leavers and changes.

You could then be working within our Talent Acquisition team or within our Learning & Development team. We’ll need you to be flexible to move around the UK over the 2-year programme to enable you to see and experience the variety of sites and placements we have available.

Alongside this, you’ll be enrolled onto your CIPD training at a level reflective of your knowledge and development. We will of course give you all the tools and support you’ll need to achieve your qualification and be successful in your permanent role following the programme.

You’ll be invited to development days where you can network and have fun with colleagues and other graduates. We work hard but we recognise that to be successful, we need to work well as a team so there’s lots of opportunities to socialise and build solid relationships.

Pay, Benefits and More

We’re offering a starting salary of £27,000 per annum, which will increase each year. In addition, we offer 25 days holiday pay (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days. You’ll have access to a variety of high street discounts, as well as a cycle to work scheme, a workplace pension, and many other perks.

To succeed on our graduate programme, you’ll need a 2:1 degree of any discipline, a desire for a future career within an HR role, coupled with lots of enthusiasm and drive to learn as much about our business and HR as you can.

If you’re looking for a career (and not just a job) that will challenge but also reward you, the GXO Graduate Academy is the place to start!
